Part of the Dunsandle Estate, Bookeen Hall was built in 1820 and used for services by the estate’s Church of Ireland congregation. The rectangular hall with its large gothic windows and solid bell-tower can be seen across fields and woodland, making it a distinctive and well known local landmark. The church was deconsecrated in 1920 and had been used as an Irish Army billet, dancehall and workshop. We purchased the derelict building in 2005 and began the work to convert it into a home.
